Home Again

I am now home!  Although home isn’t quite what it used to be.. in more ways than one..

Mercifully, the flight to Frankfurt from Vancouver was better than the flight from Frankfurt to Las Vegas.  I definitely had more legroom, and I was by the window, so I was actually able to get some sleep this time!  It also meant I was able to get some rather fun photos on the flight home.

The Canadian Rockies were really quite spectacular, and they went on for miles and miles!  The sunlight was a lovely orange colour.  I did feel like asking if I could open a window to get a better shot, but I didn’t think I would be allowed.  The extra £12 to reserve a window seat when I booked my ticket was well worth it!

After a delicious espresso in Frankfurt airport, I got back to Heathrow bang on time, and was picked up by my Mum, Dad and Bethany.  In the car on the way home I asked if the diocese had bought a house for me yet, and this was how they replied..

While I was away the house sale had completed, and Mum organised for the removals company to move all my stuff from Rugby to the new house!  It’s a lovely house, just the right size!  I have spent the last two days unpacking boxes.. but as yet I have no internet, hence the delay writing this post.

I took some more pictures this afternoon..

This isn’t quite my last post.  My plan is to write one final post reflecting on America and some of the experiences I’ve had, the best and worst moments, and the things that I was either not expecting, or which were exactly what I expected!

I have one week now to sort out the house, before I start work a week tomorrow, on 1 September.  I should have got over the jet lag by then.. I took a couple of sleeping tablets last night as I had only got two hours of sleep the night before, and after waking up at 8am, I fell asleep again at 11am and woke up at 3pm!!

That definitely can’t go on.. I’m not sure ministers are supposed to be nocturnal.
