Let us listen to James, do what he says, and learn to be devoted to Jesus with all our hearts

Salvation is the beginning of the Christian life. It is the foundation of the building, the first step of the journey. That journey, that building, is called holiness.

Christian giving is not about fundraising or buying God’s favour. It is a way of responding (in secret) to God’s generosity to us - storing up the true treasure of a generous and godly life.

It wasn’t the act of going that demonstrated the Samaritan leper’s faith, it was the act of coming back - coming back to Jesus to say thank you.

Let us strive, not only for heaven, but towards heaven. We don’t have to earn the prize; we don’t have to be paralysed by the past - let’s journey together, sharing our pain, struggles - and joy.

True faith means keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus; and we do that through prayer. When we pray, we refocus ourselves on Jesus, standing before us, arm outstretched, saying, ‘Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid. Come.’

The events of Genesis 15 changed history. Here God made with Abram the covenant that leads like an arrow to all Christians today, through the cross of Jesus Christ.
