God’s peace doesn’t make sense - because it doesn’t depend on circumstance, it depends on the love of God in Jesus.

The mess of this world, the mess in our lives – it is not the end.  There is hope, there is hope in Jesus who brings peace, who brings wholeness and completeness even to the messiest mess.

Troubles and trials will come.  We will face opposition and difficulty.  But the victory Jesus won for us can never be taken away.

God sometimes answers our questions and doubts. But all of the time he responds ‘trust me, put your faith in Jesus so you might have life.’

Micah’s vision of the future is inspiring – I long for the day when we can know the fullness of Jesus’ peace that we know now, but only in part.

In Jesus God comes to us, so he can be with us, and we with him - this is peace.

We may not know what the future holds - but we know who holds the future.

Let us commemorate the first Armistice Day, which brought a temporary peace - but let us also give thanks for Jesus, because his Armistice Day brings peace that lasts.

In the middle of trouble, David can sleep peacefully, knowing and trusting that God will keep him safe. It doesn’t mean nothing will go wrong, but that, deep down, he is secure in God.
